Material Handler / Forklift Operator
Location: Mississauga, Ontario
Type: Full-Time
Material Handler/ Forklift Operator should be hard working, self-motivated and reliable with the ability
to lift up to 50lbs. In addition, the candidate should have a safety conscious attitude and excellent communication skills. The Material Handler/ Operator are responsible for the accurate picking and
verification of products and orders.
What you will be doing
- Responsible for the daily safety check of equipment for safe operation before order picking.
- Following all OHSA policies and procedures
- Material put-away from receiving
- Replenishment of B2B Case pick area as directed by the system
- Replenishment of B2C each pick area, as directed by the system
- Order picking: Full Pallet
- Organizing pick sheets to minimize travel time.
- Verifying product to pick sheet and retrieving product
- Building stock on pallets in safe and logical manner
- Wrapping orders as required.
- Placing orders in correct staging areas
- Inputting information into the company computer system or RF scanner
- Immediately communicating all shortages or discrepancies within an order to the Supervisor
- Ensuring all aisles are free from obstruction and that all strapping, shrink-wrapping, and empty boxes are cleared
- Maintain accurate inventory
- Assisting others as necessary (other warehouse members, customers, or couriers in call area, samples staff, etc.); Excellent record keeping required
About you
- Highly organized with a keen attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure
- Understanding of Lot Control and Expire Dates
- Strong attention to detail; proof reading and quality control required
- Able to speak, read and write in English
- Warehouse and order picking experience
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Self-directed with the ability to work well with minimal supervision
- Punctual, dependable, and reliable
- Computer literate
- Physically fit - standing, bending, crouching and able to lift up to 50lbs.
- Previous warehouse experience min 2 years
- WMS and or RF experience an asset
- Valid Fork Truck Certification and Fall Protection, if applicable
